The purpose of the application is to allow the firm’s employees to view financial instrument data via the firm’s internal intranet. The available data comes from a number of different sources and is in a number of different formats – mostly CSV2- Type data. Also if user finds some incorrect data they are able to report the error to a responsible person.

The project provides real-time stock market data to the retail investors. One way feed obtained from the stock exchange is disseminated to multiple clients on real-time basis. Every tick data is processed and displayed to the client. Application provides many additional features to the retail investors enabling them to take best trade decisions. System is developed in two different versions. The retail version displays limited information to the user. User can maintain couple of watch lists and can view market depth for the selected symbol. It also provides end of day price/volume chart to the user. Watch lists display stock detail update data as it is received from the exchange server. Along with watch lists where user can add his own set of symbols, user also gets market summary and top stocks for the day. User also gets announcement of the day from the exchange. The next version is profession version providing much more features to the retail professional. These features are:

Project requirement was to do the requirement analysis, study existing application, design and development and integrated testing along with post deployment functional and technical support to pass the Euronext LIFFE tier-2 compliance and performance test. The client’s product is windows based client server application with an online order placement, order routing and portfolio management. They have Java based custom built order routing framework for the routing function. The existing system and application has exchange connectivity for NSC, CTCI and SWITCH_CTCI for stocks, future and options trading.

With a merger of Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris exchanges into Euronext it became mandatory for all the trading applications to support the Euronext LIFFE Exchange Connectivity. The vision of the project was to add a module to existing Java based framework a plug-in for Euronext LIFFE and also to make scalable, high performance client and server architecture for market data (quotes) feed. The companies supporting the Euronext LIFFE exchange connectivity are required to get certification from exchange based on the API functionalities they support. The certification is categorized in Tier 1 to 3 and the business goals and plans of the client were very aggressive to development the same.
